MAKE at the OUTSIDER ART FAIR
All of you New Yorkers, please come visit the MAKE Skateboards Booth at the Outsider Art fair this weekend! Along with showcasing art by some of the most amazing self-taught artists out there, we are releasing two new boards by Prophet Royal Robertson and Adolf Wölfli. Both of these decks came back from the shop even better than I had hoped! They look amazing on the wall if that's your thing, but they are made to skate. The Outsider Art Fair will be open today, Saturday January, 28th and close tomorrow night at 7pm. Along with MAKE Skateboards, there are some incredible galleries from around the world set-up for the show. If you're unfamiliar with the world of Outsider and self-taught art, this will be the perfect introduction... -
Shelter Serra is Rad, Like Really Rad
This lion sculpture by Shelter Serra from the MAKE Skateboards pop-up store at I-20 Gallery last summer is still on my mind, almost half a year after the show closed. He and his brother , Ivory, have been tearing up the NY skate scene forever, and both are incredible artists to boot. Every time I've seen them skate, they've totally ripped; and somehow they know anyone on four small wheels in this city. Look for them on here very soon! -
MILO on a JACOB KASSAY
Milo's Dad sent me these awesome shots of him with his brand new Jacob Kassay deck. So cool. That shape screams, "SKATE ME!" White wheels, special matching grip, definitely seems like a good way to go with it. And by the way, Milo already designs his own skateboard graphics. They're really cool. He dropped me a great sticker the first time he was in the shop. I'm thinking about hiring him soon.
